Provenio Litigation LLP has been ranked as a leading firm by Chambers UK 2026, with founder and managing partner Mark Goodwin again recognised as a Band 1 leading lawyer, and partner Emma Charnock entering the rankings for the first time as an Up and Coming lawyer.

Chambers UK praises Provenio for being “commercial and focused on outcomes for their clients”. It adds that “Provenio stands out due to its attention to detail – its lawyers are really personable and easy to work with”.
Mark Goodwin is described as “someone who has been around litigation again and again and knows it like the back of his hand”. He is also praised as a “great tactician” and an “invaluable resource in complex situations”.
The directory says Emma Charnock “always gives new angles: if you want someone to fight for your case, get her on board”.
These latest Chambers UK rankings follow Provenio’s success in this year’s Legal 500, published earlier this month.
In ranking the firm Tier 1 for the sixth year in succession, The Legal 500 describes Provenio as “the best boutique in the North West – without a doubt”. The firm is praised as “approachable, knowledgeable and highly skilled” and for delivering “partner-led solutions and strategies”.
“Star litigator” Mark Goodwin again takes his place in The Legal 500 Hall of Fame, with the directory describing him as “a grandee in his field” who is “widely regarded as a leading figure in heavyweight UK and international disputes”. The Legal 500 also highlights Mark’s “big-firm background” and says his track record for delivering sound commercial advice sets him apart.
Hannah Catterall and Emma Charnock are both named as Next Generation Partners. Hannah is praised for her “comprehensive expertise” and “calm and diligent” approach, while “brilliant” Emma is recognised for her “strategic acumen in navigating intricate commercial matters”.
Founded in 2019, Provenio Litigation LLP specialises in high-value and complex business disputes and is well placed to support clients across the UK and internationally. The firm has successfully implemented its growth strategy by attracting high-value instructions, breaking into new areas of work, growing the business through innovative litigation funding arrangements and investing in future talent through the launch of a graduate solicitor apprenticeship programme.
Commenting on the firm’s rankings, Mark Goodwin said:
“We are proud to be recognised as leaders in our field by Chambers UK and The Legal 500.
“When we launched the firm in 2019, our vision was to create the premier business disputes practice outside London, specialising in high-value and complex cases. I would like to thank all our clients for taking the time to provide feedback to the directories.”
